My Kingdom

For some time now, the wave of improvisational solos has been sweeping across stages across Europe. But how do you prepare for a solo? And why do a solo? More than solo performance techniques, the idea is for each performer to explore their own world, to forge the path they want to present on stage. Each performance is the convergence of technique, aesthetics, and message. What is my technique? What is my message? What aesthetic will I project on stage? Do we decide everything in our own realm? Or are we simply one subject among many?

One (place, people, story)

From a work on the solo, the idea is to work on a single space that we will fill with our solos. Solos that echo each other. The place dresses the characters, the characters dress the place. Because yes, you never play alone. We play with the audience, the space, the stories that precede us. And those who follow us.

BIO

Yann has been an improvisational actor for twenty-five years. He is the artistic director of the Crache-Texte company and the La Semaine de l’Impro festival in Nancy. He is also fortunate to be part of the Trophée Culture Diversité project, which has allowed him to offer passionate teenagers the opportunity to perform on some of France’s most prestigious stages: the Comédie Française, Chaillot, the Théâtre National de Strasbourg, and more. His career has also been influenced by his encounters with classical theater, puppetry, clowning, and even occasionally by his appearances in films and on various online platforms. His teaching method revolves around two simple concepts: the “little boats” and the choreographic battle. It’s about staying flexible while always pushing the engine harder.
